SHHHHH! (It’s undercover week. On this week’s show Steve, Nate, and Jeff discuss two fantastic movies from these two directors. Spike Lee lets us look in on an infiltration of the KKK by a black policeman portrayed by John David Washington in the 1970’s who enlists the help of Adam Driver. Meanwhile, Martin Scorsese’s The Departed gives us a behind the curtain look at an attempt to infiltrate the Boston mob by the state police as Martin Sheen and Mark Whalberg recruit Leonardo DiCaprio to get into a gang run by Jack Nicholson that uses Matt Damon as a mole in the police department (did you follow all that?). Both movies were nominated for a bevy of Oscars including both Martin Scorsese’s first win (Best Director and the movie also went on to win best picture) and Spike Lee’s first win (Best Adapted Screenplay). )

Main character going undercover is not a new story so how does each director take it and make it their own? Which one is able to best summarize the tension and stress involved in such a task? Which one got the best performances of their electric casts?

Listen on to find out who takes it home this week.
