It’s “Stranded” week on Duel of the Greats! Steven Spielberg’s The Terminal matches up against Ridley Scott’s The Martian. Spielberg and Scott both took a gamble by telling fairly lighthearted stories of a man seeing red: red tape and red dust, respectively.

Which movie is better at using movie magic to make the viewer feel the character’s isolation? Which director better converted his serious leading man into a comedic hero? And ultimately, which movie says more about the indomitable human spirit, gender equality, and/or the American Dream? Wait, really? Listen to find out!
