It’s Cyberpunk Detective Week (aka Cyberpunk DICKtective Week)! Two movies this week involving detectives in the future! Steven Spielberg’s Minority Report, based on the short story “The Minority Report by Phillip K. Dick, goes up against Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner, based on Dick’s “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?”

This week Jeff, Nate, and Steve discuss two seminal works of science fiction in film and determine which is better. In addition, Steve and Jeff read both short stories/novellas the movies are based on and lead the show with a discussion of how the stories played out and what was similar/different.

Which movie was more faithful to the source material? What changes did the directors make and did they work? Which posed more interesting questions for the future of humanity? These questions and more are answered by the crew in this week’s episode.

(Note from Steve: With the longer runtime of this episode it might be worth listening at 1.25x speed!)
