Starting this July, The Reel Superhero Project returns to the pod-waves (that’s a thing, right?)! The premise is still the same, but the method has been switched up! Below is what you can look forward to!
-Each episode I’ll review a randomly picked superhero movie.
-When possible, I’ll have a rotating guest host on to review with me!
-Each review must be no more than 300 words!
-Each movie will then be ranked on the shows 2 official ranking lists. One list will be mine, and one will be a combination list where every guest gets to add the movie to the ever-evolving guest rankings chart
-THE TWIST: After we’ve gotten 5 movies in, every guest reviewer will be allowed to pick a movie already on the guest list and using a Random Number Generator, move it up or down on the list by 1, 3, or 5 positions!
-On episodes where a co-reviewer is not present, I’ll post a poll via social media to give the community a poll to vote as to where the current show’s movie should be placed on the current list of ranked movies.
Mixed into review episodes, will be news related podcasts where I break down and talk about some of the biggest news stories that are happening in the world of Superhero Cinematics!
When the Reel Superhero Project started, we had high hopes for the podcast. The goal, while ultimately a long and daunting task, the overall premise was rather simple. Watch and review every Superhero movie ever. With new releases being added to the mix it would allow the podcast to stay relevant and a lot of content to add for every episode.
Unfortunately life has a way of derailing even the best laid plans. My awesome co-host Zoel Lopez was met with some road blocks in his life, I struggled to find a co-host who could devote the time, and then COVID eventually hit. While the quarantine would theoretically have been a great time to binge a lot of movies, I was not in the clear headspace to do that.
So to get the podcast back off the ground and into what I still strongly believe could be some great fun, I needed to rebuild it from the ground up and figure out a way to have it fit into my schedule. On top of this, I wanted to make sure that it was still fresh, interesting, and not just one or two people waxing on for too long about a movie that may be 10 plus years old. After much thought and elevator pitches, I think I have even come up with the solution.
